13 years ago, I was ecstatic leaving Oxford. I thought the UK was drab, dull, and grey. All these years later, I still found it very grey, but drab and dull – oh no, not at all. It was by far the best holiday we have had with our kids – we had AMAZING food, wonderful company (friends from my previous lives), and a fair bit of culture (Diggerland!).

The trip began on a good note. The Swiss National football team was infront of us at the airport. Not that I give a sh*t about football but these boys were fit!! 😂

From London we went straight to Diggerland. If you haven’t heard of it – it is THE wackiest amusement park in the world – full of – as the name suggests it- diggers! Yeah! Buckets of fun for everyone! It was amazing!

Since there wasn’t much to do in this river town, we left straight after breakfast (which was terrible, if you see my Google reviews), for London.

Time has a way to wash over the complacency of one’s memories. It was strange to be back. London felt so much cleaner than 15 years ago and if I dare say, almost beautiful!

The next few days were packed with activities, friends, and food, so much good food!
We went on many “London buses” (N’s very excited term for double decker buses) and did some touristy things.

We also went to Southall- the gateway to India/ Pakistan – as Swiss bunny put it- one should go here for acclimatisation before visiting India for the first time

We went to the very beautiful Kew Gardens – I want to go back there with my painting stuff!! I thought it would be boring but it was so nice.

We found some other gems in London – like all these food places and cafes! Still mind blown at the quality!

So will we holiday in London again and again? May be not (the hotel/ apartment quality was subpar) but we are seriously considering going there for dinner every now and then.
