In Verbier, the British colony of Switzerland.

So many Londoners.

It was difficult to say which country it was anymore. Just like Mt. Titlis, the new Vaishno Devi for Indians. (VD is a sacred mountain in the Himalayas).

We stayed at our friend’s (Sarah) family’s (BEAUTIFUL) chalet for the first night, which can also be booked via Airbnb (subtle hint). This is the view from her place in the morning (another subtle hint 😉).

So much beautiful untouched snow. Look at the blue sky and think about it for a little while.

I can’t imagine why the Brits love it.

We skiied for a few hours, munched some carrots, and then made our way down and rented some snow shoes, to make it up to our home for the night, Cabane de Tortin (ta naa).

Picture of snow shoes taken in spirit of India’s republic day the previous day(Jan 26th).

Now, one can ski down Mont Fort to reach this cabin but the piste looked like the northern wall of Game of Thrones.

Seriously.

I dont joke about such things. Game of thrones, I mean. Or black pistes.

The piste to come down to the Cabin. It doesn’t look as steep as it really was…

I thought snow shoeing up the slope (picture below) will be easier than skiing down the slope above, but I must confess the climb in soft snow was a little bit too much.

This is where we had to reach. So much for my little bunny legs.

But the view from the top was worth it.

Look at them mountains.

The cabin had a great paronamic view and we saw a glorious sunset and sunrise the next morning over Mont Blanc (the highest mountain in the Alps).

Hello, I am Mont Blanc.

Oh and did I mention the cabin had a hot outdoor pool? We sat there for a long time in the evening, with the mountains glistening in moon light and so many stars. But you know the best part about the cabin, the Brits haven’t found it yet. 😁 Five Carrots soup to you, Cabane de Tortin! Here is a painting I did after coming back:

The next day a little bit more skiing and some ski lessons with Sarah (omg another subtle hint) and it was time to go back to bunny’s cats. Such a purrfect weekend. Worth a painting. 🙂

Here, Verbier, you get 4 carrots.
